Symbiosis Institute of Operations management (SIOM) believes that corporate interface in delivering management education imparts depth and breadth to learning experience. These interactions also add on to the corporate branding. We invite all corporates to participate in these initiatives actively.

“TATTV” – THE NATIONAL SEMINAR ON OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT:

“TATTV” has been the flagship Seminar for the Operations fraternity. The purpose of “TATTV” is to ‘unfold the real elements governing the dynamics' of business today. Since its inception in 2006, “TATTV” has been a forum witnessing COOs, Directors and VPs sharing their wealth of knowledge and experience with students and other industry leaders. “TATTV” through the years has constantly evolved to fuel the nascent desire of young Operations management professionals. It is an ideal occasion for companies to showcase their best practices in Operations management in domains like production, marketing, IT and finance.

“DRISHTI” – THE MANAGEMENT WAR AND CULTURAL EXTRAVAGANZA:

“DRISHTI” - meaning vision, is the perfect cohesion of business and cultural conclave that exemplifies the spirit of continuous excellence. It is a platform for the enterprising, visionary and fearless where preparation meets opportunity. This annual event witnesses renowned B-Schools across India participating at the host of technical and cultural events during the two day festivity. Corporates come forward to nurture this spirit of competition and victory in the form of monetary sponsorships. We invite the industry to bring forth their live case studies / business plans for the competitions and gain through the intellectual creativity of students.

“HR SUMMIT” – SUSTAINABLE HUMAN CAPITAL THROUGH OPERATIONS EXCELLENCE

The HR Summit hosted in Mumbai explores dynamism of People, Operations and organisational development. The event witness insights from thought leaders & HR practitioners on best human capital practices that makes an organisation the employer of choice. The idea is to explore how operations management tools can be applied in HRM.

“CONVERGE” – THE CONFLUENCE OF INDUSTRY AND ACADEMIA:

The Institute calls forth the companies to send their senior professionals to discuss to contemporary topics through panel discussion along with academia. Our idea is students witness the merging of these two and learn to derive applied knowledge in specified area.

"MOCK INVESTORS SUMMIT"

Mock Investors Summit is a learning simulation which encompasses the comprehensive learning of International Business, Financial Management, Strategic Management and Marketing. Students are divided into teams representing different countries, and each team gets a chance to present their plans and strategies devised over months of preparation in order to attract investments from the investment panel which consists of esteemed businessmen and academicians. Armed with virtual money, each team tries to get maximum investment in their country in order to win while maintaining an optimal balance between collaboration and competition.

Symbiosis Institute of Operations Management has been hosting the Mock Investment Summit for the past 6 years. It is an enriching experience for the students to study, understand and implement actual concepts used in the world of business, finance, negotiation and investment.

“CORPORATE DAY” - CELEBRATING COMPANY SUCCESS ON CAMPUS

SIOM welcomes the industry to showcase their achievements through banners, product displays, standees at the SIOM campus. We plan to arrange interactive case learning & experience sharing sessions by your senior people who have been instrumental in these achievements to share their journey with students.

“CORPORATE RESEARCH PROJECTS”: SCIENTIFIC ENQUIRY AND CREATIVE PROBLEM SOLVING:

Industry can offload their operations problems to us very confidently. SIOM’s expert faculties engage in such applied research to work hand in glove with industry. Reciprocally the industry nurtures the epistemological endeavours to create knowledge and enrich their fraternity with innovative solutions to manage the unprecedented volatilities of today’s businesses

“SPANDAN” - CONNECTING THROUGH HEARTS; THE SOCIAL ARM OF SIOM

Spandan is an ethical ideology that stems off from SIOM - A self-owned obligation to act for the benefit of society at large. Through this advancement in our social goals, we ensure a positive impact on the growth & development of society in various aspects like education, health, environment, care for elders & special children and value adding to general public services. We wish to join hands with corporates in their CSR activities, be an integral part of such implementation to achieve their social goals.

“CHRYSALIS” – THE SIOM NEWSLETTER

Chrysalis is our joyful expression of achievements. Promoted with the objective of sharing this joy & creativity within our well-wishers in Industry and society this newsletter goes to around 700 corporates & acclaimed academicians in India and abroad. The “CEO speaks” column invites Company’s senior management to write on their contemporary thoughts or share their real life experiences in management. Companies can also submit their latest achievements in Operational Excellence. Students always aspire to seek inspiration from such writings.

OUTWARD BOUND LEARNING

Realization and learning in the natural surroundings and adventurous environment is highly effective. Management by practice through various sensitivity games and out door simulation always leaves a lasting impression. Debates, book reviews, study circle, professional viva and projects every trimester, form an integral part of the curriculum.

Espoir - The Student Magazine of SIOM

ESPOIR is the newly instituted student magazine of Symbiosis Institute of Operations Management. It is an exemplary platform for students to unleash their creativity across various spheres of life like art, literature, photography and more. We at SIOM believe that creativity makes life more interesting and learning more fun. Students are encouraged to think and learn beyond the confines of classroom and manifest the creativity within themselves into alluring pieces of art. Espoir is a wonderful way for students to share their stories for it is through expression that we share our experiences.

The first edition was published in May 2020 and featured poems, articles, book and movie reviews, travel stories, breathtaking photographs, artwork and much more. “ICOSCM” – International Research Conference on Operations and Supply Chain Management

ICOSCM is the annual International Conference on Operations and Supply Chain Management which is conducted with a main objective of giving an impetus for providing an efficient platform for academicians, research scholars, and other stakeholders to put in their perspectives and ideas on the relevant operations and supply chain issues, and topics. The annual event receives research works from around the world which are presented for evaluation to highly esteemed chairs and also witnesses very thoughtful and informative deliberations by renowned keynote speakers.
