The Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) at SIOM was established with the primary objectives of routing energy and the knowledge of the students towards becoming job creators. The cell, through its various activities like Entrepreneurs Talk, Idea Bazar competition, Share Market Simulation, and encouraging the students to participate in the recognized contests, promotes the development of innovative minds and contributes to seeking self-employment opportunities. The EDC acts as an institute-level mechanism for the dissemination of the knowledge concerning running an enterprise. The cell serves as a representation of Symbiosis Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, a non-profit organization promoted by Symbiosis International (Deemed University) set up to encourage innovation-driven entrepreneurship.
All the activities of the cell undertaken during the year are student-driven. Besides driving all the events of organizing the Entrepreneurs Talk, Idea Bazar competition, Share Market Simulation, Business Plan competition, and encouraging the students to participate in the recognized contests. The Entrepreneurship Development Cell at SIOM can assist prospective students in preparing project reports, obtaining approvals, loans, and facilities from support agencies, information on technologies, and overall support for the establishment of an enterprise.
