The 11th edition of HR Summit, the annual flagship conclave of Symbiosis Institute of Operations Management was held on 10th August at Ramada Convention Centre, Powai. The riveting title theme for the conclave this year was 'Collaborative Intelligence - Enhancing Human Capital for Transcending Organizational Capabilities'.

With an intriguing line-up of subthemes like Neuroleadership, Talentization, Driving Millennials from Individualism to Collectivism etc., this year's event boasted of a interesting list of HR professionals across industries who brought their unique perspective to the table.

The Director of Symbiosis Institute of Operations Management, Dr. Vandana Sonwaney delivered a power-packed opening address and set the tone for a fascinating line-up of industry stalwarts.

The event started off on an interesting note with the first keynote speaker, Rtn. Anupama Vaidya who opened the event with a quote emphasising on the willingness to learn being an important choice and set the tone for the event with an interesting take on Neuroleadership. She got the audience thinking with her take on people impacting results expectations from individual leadership styles using the D.I.N.E.S. model.

The second keynote speaker Mr. Venkatesh Palabatla, CHRO at GMR Hyderabad International Airport simplified the novel concept of Analythics by explaining how content and intent are equally pivotal factors in determining any organization's success.

The first panel discussion which was composed of a rather demographically diverse mix of professionals who all swore to be millennials at heart, deliberated on the effort required to drive millennials from individualism to collectivism and the technique of weaving individualism into the collective.

HR Artistry a concept which emphasized the need for HR professionals to don the hat of artists and weave organizational masterpieces was explained lucidly by Mr. Anurag Verma, Senior Director - HR at Flipkart. The post-lunch sessions consisted of a line-up of 2 of the liveliest and spirited discussions on Talentization and Creating Value for Organizations through Mind Share Strategy engaged the audience and witnessed quite a few memorable moments created by the panellists and delegates. The panel for Talentization emphasized the need for development of the workforce and imparting employable skills to the young workforce. The panel on Mind Share Strategy was moderated by the Director of Symbiosis Institute of Operations Management which gave the audience some of the most important takeaways of the event and ended with the message of the need of students being the in the cockpit ready to maneuver and shape their careers. The event saw a steady influx of delegates from various cities. As the sun set, the event was brought to an end by an inspiring speech delivered by the Faculty Mentor - Dr. Yashomandira Kharde who spoke about the germination of the idea behind the title theme. The student convener Mr. Yash Gujarathi ended the event with a power-packed speech boosting the morale and expressing gratitude to his team of members fondly called as the Purple Brigade, the team that relentlessly worked for days and nights to present an event of this scale.
