HR Summit 2020

With a tagline of ‘The Unprecedented Routes: Continuity Amidst Chaos’ in these uncertain times, Symbiosis Institute of Operations Management, Nashik, conducted their annual flagship HR program, the HR Summit 2020, digitally on the Airmeet platform. With eminent HR professionals gracing the occasion, sharing their viewpoints and finding new ways to excel in this new normal with the single common goal of knowledge sharing and creating a better tomorrow.

Imbibing a new look, HR Summit, stretched across 9 episodes, with a single theme or two for the day. It involved a mix of both, panel discussions as well as the keynote sessions. Stating the numbers, it comprised a total of 37 HR Leaders, with 14 keynote sessions and 5 panel discussions with over 400 delegates from the HR fraternity attending the session digitally and over 6000+ views across episodes on the live stream which was done parallelly on YouTube which was open for all. It involved a mix of highly interactive sessions, with theme laden discussions igniting new ideas and provoking thoughts to contemplate on and finding better ways to thrive and end up creating a change, a beautiful change for the years and generations ahead.

The speaker line-up consisted of highly acclaimed HR Professionals such as Mr. Hari T.N (Head HR) BigBasket, Mr. Shrikant Lonikar (CHRO) Pernod Ricard, Mr. Praveen Voona (Recruitment Head) Airbus, Mr. Manish Bhardwaj (Group HR Lead) Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, Mr. Pranav Prasoon (Head HR) Renault India, Ms. Vidya Munirathnam (Director HR) Lowe's India, Dr. Dinesh Kumar Murugesan (Country Head HR) DSM, Mr. Suraju Dutta (Joint Managing Director) Delhivery and many more who graced the occasion.

Some themes discussed were about how, when you fail fast, you learn fast and then you improve faster. Enabling a continuous learning process. Similarly, the impetus on time was mentioned to be huge. Stating how, balancing time under pressure situations, will be essential. With these current testing times, it is like today's response will be the tomorrow’s image and how these bad times bring out the best in people to nurture, grow and prosper.

The Summit also touched base with the technological growth and how they are going to change the workplace culture. It spoke about how innovations are going to drive the labour market and during these times, how the realignment of HR operations in the times of Supply Chain Disruptions is going to play a huge role.

It dwelled in the fact of how global experiments in the wake of the catastrophe give rise to new ideas, those which shape a better tomorrow for everyone involved. Bringing together the planet, people and profit to drive companies ahead with goodwill. Touching base with how, being resilient is essential, aiming and relentlessly striving will aid in growth, with the veterans and budding millennials coming together to create more employment opportunities and idea sharing and finally to a sustainable business growth. It is going to be these authentic workplace cultures that would benefit organizations, with a key aim that yes, we are away, distant, but within these distancing, let us be connected, be united.
