Aarambh, a cultural festival organized by MBA First Year students of Symbiosis Institute of Operations Management (SIOM), was celebrated on SIOM campus on 9th of June 2018. The festive evening was commenced by Mrs. Vandana Sonawaney (Director, SIOM) by the traditional ‘Deep Prajwalan’ ritual. The evening witnessed a wave of young dynamic individuals performing together in harmony and an enthusiastic audience cheering for them. After the participants performed Ganesh Vandana to honor Lord Ganesha, a series of energy packed group and duet dances made audience tap their feets and sway to their beats! As people almost lost touch with reality surrendering to captivating moves of elite dancers, surrounding became upbeat and buoyant. The whole foyer echoed with chuckles of the audience, while they tackled their belly cramps, laughing their hearts out at comedy skits and stand up performances. In a particular skit, puns were deployed skillfully which left majority of audience in awe. The event would have felt incomplete without the scintillating voices of the talented singers. A concert of mellifluous songs made the audience sway their body whilst singing along surrendering themselves to the melody. Fashion show which was performed towards the end of the show was a pleasant surprise and instantly became a point of attraction. Central theme for fashion show was aptly chosen to be ‘Cultural Diversity’. Performers dressed in attires from various parts of country, walked down the ramp showcasing their diversity yet signifying how they live in harmony. On this note the blissful event was concluded.
