Placements MBA Batch 2008-10
SIOM's placements have been good since its inception in the year 2005. Considering the fact that itis only in its fifth year of establishment, SIOM has made a quantum leap in the value the corporateworld is willing to attach to the SIOM's Techno-Business Managers. Corporate world has expressedimmense satisfaction and excitement with the SIOM campus, processes of knowledge, attitude andleadership creation.
Companies from diverse sectors ranging from Consulting, IT, ITES, Automotive, Manufacturing, Retail,Logistics, FMCG, and Banking participated in the placement process this year. Profiles offered tothe students include ERP consulting, Supply Chain Consulting, Six Sigma Consulting and ProjectManagement and others.
This year has been a better year for the corporate world as most of the corporate around the worldshowed healthy signs of recovery after a recession. This also reflected in this year's placements atSIOM.
A total of 35 companies participated in the placement process out of which 18 were first time recruitersat SIOM. The average salary improved by10% compared to last year, and the quality of placementwas very good like the previous years. All the students were placed in companies of their interest,where they could apply their knowledge. With majority of students opting for Manufacturing, IT/ITES,Consulting, etc. the placement was inline with the competencies (Operations/ SCM/ Quality and SixSigma/ APICS/ SAP) that the institute builds.
It is also noteworthy that demand for Operations Management students has been on the rise since thelast 5 years and the outlook for the future looks promising for SIOM.
