Symbiosis institute of Operations Management, Nashik organized the Research Conference on Operations and Supply Chain Management (RCOSCM) on the 17th of February 2018 at their premises. RCOSCM was held as a platform for students, faculties and researchers of Operations and Supply Chain Management streams across India to present their research ideas and papers in front of a panel of esteemed researchers.
The event was inaugurated by Dr. Vaidy Jayaraman, Principal and Associate Dean, Great Lakes institute of Management, Chennai. The paper presentations revolved around the theme ‘Competitive Manufacturing Supply Chain Strategies in Dynamic Environment’. There were around 50 papers that were presented during the day, by students and researchers from various institutes of repute across India.
The event also included keynote speeches by Dr. Vaidy Jayaraman, Principal and Associate Dean, Great Lakes institute of Management, Chennai on the topic ‘The Long Ardous Road to Digital Supply Chains’, and another session by Dr V Madusudanan Pillai, Head, School of Management Studies, National Institute of Technology (NIT), Calicut.
The main intention of holding this event has been the belief at SIOM that research study is the way forward for any path breaking innovation. Fostering young minds is the first step towards achieving this, which is the ultimate aim of events such as RCOSCM.
In association with RCOSCM, a Faculty Development Program on Multi-Criteria Decision Making was also held, on the 18th of February 2018, which was attended by professors from reputed colleges across the nation.
