Tattv 2017, the flagship event of Symbiosis Institute of Operations Management (SIOM), Nashik, was conducted on Saturday, the 11th of November 2017 at the campus. Tattv is the annual Operations Converge of SIOM, where experts from the industry interact with the academia and students, for a mutual exchange of ideas.
Tattv 2017 was themed around the topic “Industrial Metamorphosis: Changing phases in Operations”, concentrating on the latest techniques and processes that have changed the industrial landscape in the very recent past. The event was inaugurated by Mr. Narendra Goliya, Chairman and Managing Director, Rishabh Instruments Pvt. Ltd and Mr. Daljeet Singh, CEO, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited. We saw some eminent speakers and experienced professionals, whose talks aligned the audience’s thoughts to what Mr. Narendra Goliya mentioned in his inaugural address, “Change is the only constant thing in the world”.
The topics varied from the advancement of new technology such as the Industrial Internet of Things and Blockchains, as discussed by Mr. Damodar Sahu, Head-Auto Insights and Service Transformation, Wipro; Mr. Nilanjan Chatterjee, Vice President-CoE, Inspirage and Mr. Ajay Singh, Head of Supply Chain, Aquapharm Chemicals to the effects of human emotions and behavioral patterns on the supply
chain, as discussed by Mr. Vijaybahu Joshi, Asst. Vice - President Head of Design, Reliance JIO Infocomm. While, Mr. Rohit Batra, Vice President and Head -Supply Chain, Ferrero India, shared how important it is to be an intuitive and a resilient manager. A keynote speech on the relevance of Global Strategic Sourcing was delivered by Mr. Ashish Bansal, Procurement Head- India, Colgate Palmolive. For the budding managers at SIOM, a session on the relevance of leadership in operations management was delivered by Capt. Akhilesh Saxena, Vice President, Tata Communications.
One among the biggest lessons from the day was that of a connected enterprise – a supplier, a plant, a customer and all linkages connected together. Ultimately, what you sell tomorrow should exactly be what you should be producing today. This concept of IIOT and operations understanding the human emotions turned out to be the new characteristics of the metamorphosis in the industry.
The highlights of the event were the panel discussions on Customer Centricity at the heart of Operations excellence and Sustainable Operations Management as the pursuit of triple bottom line, with all panelists being stalwarts in their respective industries.
